        Labex SIGNALIFE official inauguration: an occasion<\/strong><\/h2>\n

        for the entire labex community to get together for the 1st time<\/strong><\/h2>\n

        April 30th 2013, Valrose Ch\u00e2teau Theater, Nice<\/strong><\/h2>\n

        The 500 members of the Labex SIGNALIFE scientific community were invited on Tuesday, April 30th 2013, for the official inauguration of the labex SIGNALIFE.<\/p>\n

        Mme Fr\u00e9d\u00e9rique Vidal, President of Nice Sophia Antipolis University, outlined the importance this multidisciplinary, multi-institute program in the context of the University and congratulated the community on their success in her opening address.<\/p>\n

        In his inaugural speech, St\u00e9phane Noselli, the scientific coordinator of this Laboratory of Excellence, presented the main goals of this ambitious program, the general organization, scientific and teaching objectives. Individuals from all Labex components and associated services participated to the meeting. It was a great success.<\/p>\n

        La communaut\u00e9 scientifique r\u00e9unie au sein du LABEX SIGNALIFE est invit\u00e9e mardi 30 avril \u00e0 10h30, \u00e0 l\u2019initiative de St\u00e9phane Noselli, responsable scientifique de ce laboratoire d\u2019excellence, \u00e0 une r\u00e9union d\u2018information pour faire le point et pr\u00e9senter les grandes lignes du LABEX, son organisation g\u00e9n\u00e9rale et ses objectifs scientifiques.<\/div>\n

        En 2012, le projet SIGNALIFE a \u00e9t\u00e9 laur\u00e9at des Programmes Investissement d\u2019Avenir du Minist\u00e8re de l\u2019Enseignement Sup\u00e9rieur et de la Recherche. Il repr\u00e9sente un r\u00e9seau d\u2019excellence de 49 \u00e9quipes de recherche de la r\u00e9gion Nice Sophia Antipolis soutenues par l\u2019Universit\u00e9 Nice Sophia Antipolis, le CNRS, l\u2019Inserm, l\u2019INRA, l\u2019Inria et impliquant le Centre anti cancer A. Lacassagne et le CHU de Nice.<\/p>\n

        Il r\u00e9unit une communaut\u00e9 de 500 scientifiques r\u00e9partis dans 6 laboratoires\u00a0: Institut de Biologie Valrose (iBV), Institut de Pharmacologie Mol\u00e9culaire et Cellulaire (IPMC), Institut de Recherche sur le Cancer et le Veillissement Nice (IRCAN), Centre M\u00e9diterran\u00e9en de M\u00e9decine Mol\u00e9culaire (C3M), Institut Sophia Agrobiotech (ISA), et Inria Sophia Antipolis-M\u00e9diterran\u00e9e Research Center.<\/p>\n

        G\u00e9r\u00e9 par l\u2019Universit\u00e9 Nice Sophia Antipolis et coordonn\u00e9 le Dr St\u00e9phane Noselli, directeur de l\u2019iBV, le budget attribu\u00e9 \u00e0 ce r\u00e9seau innovant est de 11 millions d\u2019euros sur 8 ans.<\/p>\n

        Communication entre cellules vivantes\u00a0: nouvelles fronti\u00e8res et enjeux<\/strong><\/p>\n

        L\u2019objectif est de cr\u00e9er une communaut\u00e9 scientifique unique et synergique en sciences de la vie pour identifier les solutions et rem\u00e8des de demain et r\u00e9soudre les \u00e9nigmes de la communication cellulaire. Le projet scientifique porte sur la signalisation cellulaire dont l\u2019enjeu est de mieux comprendre comment les cellules vivantes communiquent entre elles. Ce processus est central \u00e0 tous les organismes animaux et v\u00e9g\u00e9taux ainsi qu\u2019\u00e0 l\u2019homme et sa d\u00e9r\u00e9gulation peut entra\u00eener de nombreuses pathologies et d\u00e9fauts cong\u00e9nitaux.<\/p>\n

        Ce projet ambitieux permettra de mieux comprendre les bases mol\u00e9culaires et cellulaires du d\u00e9veloppement, de la physiologie, de la r\u00e9ponse aux stress et de plusieurs pathologies comme le cancer, le diab\u00e8te, les maladies neuro-d\u00e9g\u00e9n\u00e9ratives et cardiaques, etc.<\/p>\n

        Les forces et compl\u00e9mentarit\u00e9s des partenaires de SIGNALIFE g\u00e9n\u00e8reront l\u2019innovation en recherche acad\u00e9mique et translationnelle tout en entra\u00eenant des partenariats pouss\u00e9s avec l\u2019industrie. Le c\u0153ur de ce programme et bas\u00e9 sur une formation universitaire de tr\u00e8s haut niveau avec le recrutement d\u2019\u00e9tudiants doctorants internationaux et la cr\u00e9ation \u00e0 terme d\u2019un campus d\u2019excellence sur la signalisation cellulaire.<\/p>\n
